Neotists
A creative revolution in Cambridgeshire’s largest town.
Background
St Neots has a population of 40,000 and it’s set to grow to over 50,000 in the next ten years. The town lacked a visible creative community. We believed creativity is integral for the prosperity of a town and that a vibrant creative community can provide opportunities and innovation for residents, businesses and visitors.
Solution
To create a collective and bring together highly-skilled creative professionals, who could work to build a vibrant, innovative creative sector for the region. An organisation that would provide opportunities and practical support for its members to network, share ideas and collaborate on projects. To deliver projects and work with local government and businesses to achieve wider-reaching benefits for the local community.
Results
Since 2015 we have supported the creative community with networking opportunities, advice, marketing support, commissions and strengthened the local economy, safeguarding jobs and enhancing the overall prosperity of the creative sector.
We have provided opportunities for creative people to collaborate and form new partnerships in a welcoming and supportive environment.
We have delivered, and support others in delivering, a wide range of cultural events and learning opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
Through our projects and programmes we have increased the range of services available for retailers and investors and fostered a thriving creative sector to bolster the wider local economy, with an enhanced reputation for St Neots, increased footfall and a community of creative professionals on tap to help local businesses grow.
We are drivers for social change and our vision encourages positive attitudes about St Neots, increasing wellbeing and enhancing community spirit.
We collaborate with local authorities, businesses, schools, voluntary organisations and individuals for the benefit of the community.
